Overview

Indian passport holders applying for a UK Standard Visitor (Tourist) Visa must provide a valid passport, proof of sufficient funds, employment/business details, and a travel itinerary. All documents must be in English or Welsh, and you will need to submit your biometrics at a local Visa Application Centre (VAC).

1. Identity & Travel Documents
  • Valid Passport: Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from the UK and contain at least one blank page.
  • Old Passports: Provide all previously issued passports to show your travel history.
  • Photographs: Two recent, identical, color passport-sized photographs (35mm x 45mm) on a white background that meet UK photo guidelines.
  • Online Application Form: The printed and signed application form generated after completing your profile on the GOV.UK website.
2. Financial Proof
You must demonstrate you have adequate funds to cover your travel, accommodation, and living expenses without working or accessing public funds.
  • Bank Statements: Original or downloaded bank statements for the last 6 months showing sufficient, stable funds. Statements should reflect regular income.
  • Income Tax Returns (ITR): ITR acknowledgments or Form 16 for the last 3 years.
  • Additional Financial Proof: Fixed deposits, mutual fund statements, or property deeds can also be included to show strong financial ties. [
3. Purpose of Visit & Travel Arrangements
  • Cover Letter: A self-signed letter explaining the purpose of your trip, your itinerary, and a breakdown of how you will fund your visit.
  • Travel Itinerary: Documented proof of your travel plans (e.g., flight and hotel bookings, tour reservations). 
4. Employment & Professional Proof
Depending on your occupational status, you must submit the following:
  • If Employed: A No Objection Certificate (NOC) and leave approval from your employer, last 3 months' salary slips, and an employment contract/offer letter.
  • If Self-Employed: Company registration proofs, business bank statements for the last 6 months, and company ITRs for the last 3 years.
  • If a Student: A bonafide letter or NOC from your school or university confirming your enrollment.
  • If Retired: Pension statements and proof of retirement. 
5. Additional Documents (If Applicable)
  • If Visiting Family/Friends: An invitation letter from the host, their UK address proof, and a copy of their passport or residence permit.
  • If Sponsored: A sponsorship letter detailing who is paying for your trip, their financial proofs, and their ID.
